Beyond The Garden Gates is a UK blog of practical guides for home and garden life. We cover gardening and wildlife, DIY and outdoor jobs, running a home and its appliances, seasonal jobs such as keeping warm through winter, and a little motoring and travel. Everything is written for ordinary UK households, in British English, with UK weather, rules and prices in mind.
Who runs the site
Beyond The Garden Gates has been publishing since 2021. It is published by High Ranking Websites Ltd, a UK company, and edited by Kaan Rassad, who decides what we publish, reviews every article before it goes live and keeps older guides up to date.
How we write our guides
We aim to answer the question you actually searched for, clearly and without padding. Where a guide includes facts, figures, rules or safety advice, we check them against authoritative UK sources, such as GOV.UK, the Highway Code, the RHS, HETAS, the Energy Saving Trust and Which?, and link to those sources so you can read more.
We do not invent statistics, reviews or personal experiences. Where advice touches on safety, such as electrics, chemicals, fires or riding a motorbike, we say so plainly and point you to a qualified professional when a job is not one to do yourself.
Keeping content up to date
Advice changes, so we review our older articles. When several short posts covered the same question, we have combined them into single, fuller guides, and we remove articles that are out of date or no longer useful. If you spot something that looks wrong, please tell us and we will check it.
